Bramley

Nestling below Wenlock Edge, Homer is a peaceful village in the South Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a mile outside the historic and picturesque township of Much Wenlock.



Bramley is a compact and comfortable self-contained annexe with its own garden entrance. Its secluded courtyard with tasteful garden furniture looks onto the lovely cottage garden with apple, pear, plum and damson trees (which guests are welcome to help themselves to in season). Downstairs, the entrance hall has coat hooks and boots storage space.The well stocked kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and fold down table and chairs. There are electric heaters upstairs and down. The shower room has a heated towel rail , ceiling heater and large wardrobe. Upstairs, the pine-panelled bed-sitting room, has a bedside chest and reading lamps, settee and plenty of storage space. There is a television, radio, DVD playerand books, including agood selectionof local interest maps and walking guides.The velux window looks up to Wenlock Edge. Electric blankets are on the beds and there are four tog weights of duvets to choose from. A fan,and hairdryer are provided. Bramley is carpeted throughout (apart from the shower room). Guests are welcome to use our washing line, washing machine and tumble dryer. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.



Bramley scored 70% in its Quality in Tourism inspection, (Feb. 2010) well into the 3 Star standard (60 - 74%). It has a 2 Star rating as it's not a spacious property, but makes up for that in other ways. Inspector's comments: 'Guests should not be disappointed…..exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, the property was immaculate throughout….very well maintained, with plenty of additional interest…..Seasonal container planting is exceptionally good and gives the private patio area plenty of interest. Own garden is very attractive and provides a good outlook for guests. Guests are made particularly welcome….and owner is available if needed.



Please note that Bramley is non-smoking and we regret that we cannot take pets. As there are stairs and steps, the accommodation is not suitable for small children or those with restricted mobility.

There is much to explore for those interested in history and the natural environment and many lovely walks nearby. Wenlock Edge, on the doorstep has ancient semi-natural woodland and a rich flora, birdlife and geological interest. Homer has fine views over the Severn Valley towards the Wrekin. It is only a 30 min drive from the moorland and 'batches (valleys) of the Long Mynd, Caer Caradoc and other South Shropshire hills, all with stunning views.



Much Wenlock is rightly regarded as one of the 'jewels' of Shropshire, with its timber framed Guildhall, Priory ruins, picturesque houses, Museum and interesting shops.



The Ironbridge Gorge, a World Heritage Site as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, is only 10 minutes away and has an excellent and varied group of museums which interpret the area's past, including Blists Hill Victorian Town.
