Your vote could help us to win a National Lottery Award!
We are delighted to have been nominated for a National Lottery Award.
The Armed Forces Memorial at The National Memorial Arboretum is competing against two other projects in the finals of the Best Heritage Project category.
To win this Award we need your votes!
The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects. The aim is to celebrate and recognise the difference that those projects have made to people, places and communities across the UK.
Winning the award will help us to further commemorate the brave service people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It will also help acknowledge the suffering of the families and loved ones left behind, including those affected by current conflicts.

These visitors think so:
‘Poignant and memorable. Proud to be British’ Mr and Mrs H. Tenby, Wales
‘I wish to express my sincere and heartfelt admiration for the Armed Forces Memorial. Visiting it recently, I was immediately struck by its monumentality. My first thought as I walked up the steps was that it had something of the grandeur of the Canadian First World War Memorial at Vimy Ridge in France. Its site, on the top of the little hill, is sublime and the approach up the steps is dramatic. Looking out beyond the obelisk to the fields and trees cements its setting and gives an impression of space, tranquillity and timelessness. It is a fitting tribute to the sacrifices of all the men and women who have died in service to the country since 1945.’ Julie Summers, author
‘Restores one’s faith in a troubled world.’ Mr and Mrs U. Devon
‘What a pleasure to meet such dedicated staff and volunteers, who were all welcoming, helpful, happy and clearly enjoying what they were about. If only the rest of the UK was run on such lines’ Serving Colonel
